Historical study of musical theatre and musicals from Broadway

Vocal production, choreography, character building and stage presence

Script, libretto and musical score

Use of costumes and props

Solo, pair and ensemble work

Course objectives:

To develop an understanding of the unique requirements of integrating music and theatre into a unified artform

To develop expertise in specific performance techniques such as vocal skills or dance skills, appropriate to individual needs and abilities

To encourage participation in musical theatre performances of various styles
